I LOVE a good matte foundation so I was super excited to try out CoverGirl's new TruBlend Matte Made Liquid Foundation. Drugstore foundation means affordable and matte means I won't look an oily mess hours later, or will I? Is this foundation too good to be true? Let's get into product deets.
The new line of foundation offers a range of 40 shades. Yup, 40 shades! Colored girls, this is great news to our ears. Finally! The brand has added an additonal 19 shades from its previous largest foundation line, TruBlend Liquid Makeup. (*inserts hands claps*) What I love about this product is the packaging. It's in a clear glass bottle (I won't have to guess when I'm running out) and it has a lockable pump and cap (shown above). Let's get into these swatches.
Below I've made a list of pros and cons telling you how I really feel about the product after wearing it for several hours.
Lightweight; Foundation doesn't heavy or look heavy/cakey
Not easy to transfer onto clothing
Affordable- Reatils between $9-12
When paired with the Covergirl skin smoothing primer kept me matte for about 6 hours (the length I wore the foundation)
Worked well with other products
Not full coverage so you'll need to color correct and or conceal any dark spots/hyper-pigmentation before foundation application
May have a hard time finding the perfect match if you can't swatch in-store
Overall I think CoverGirl did an amazing job with this product. I'll definitely add this to my personal collection of foundations and use when I'm going for a simple, medium coverage look. Let me know if you're going to give this product a try below!
Creatively, Authentically Lo.
